The Mission

In my travels (jessicakeown.theworldrace.org) I got to work with several amazing ministries, missionaries, and pastors around the world.  Two of the most impactful months of my journey were in Thailand and in the Philippines.

In Thailand we worked with a ministry called "SHE Ministry," which stands for Self Help Empowerment. They go into the bars on Bangla Road in Phuket Thailand and befriend the women there.  These women work at the bars only as a way to find a 'male companion' to make a little extra money.  That is their life and they are unaware that there is anything better in life for them.  It's heartbreaking to walk those roads and see those women, but SHE is working diligently to provide a different life for them.

In the Philippines we worked with Threads of Hope, who works to prevent women from entering prostitution on the island of Mindoro by offering them an income from making bracelets, which are sold in the states and around the world as fundraisers.  Both impacted my life and my goal is to be able to support them financially.

Support Local.  I haven't set a location for my cafe, but I'd love to be able to support local ministries as well, perhaps by being a dropoff location for donations, or organizing and sponsoring events to raise money for them.  The possibilities are endless!

Support Individuals.  Raising money to go on mission trips is not an easy task, so, God willing, I would also like to provide support to people who are willing to go on short term mission experiences.
